Mr.& Mrs.Jack Webb of Sarnia, Mr.& Mrs.L. Woodbeck and Mrs.Stuart Webb of Ft.William visited with Mrs.C.McGregor at the home of the L.R.McCuaigs. Mrs.W.McGregor held a family dinner in their honour at her home on Monday evening, Mrs.S,.Peters and Mrs.P.L.Chuk of Geraldton were the guests of Mr.& Mrs.M,Didura last week, J, Phillips is in Toronto to attend a . gathering of the Progressive Conservatives. Miss Cheryl Sly and Denny Craig of Port Arthur were the wee«end guests of Mr.& Mrs, R,Grey who recently returned from a holiday spent in Ottawa, Toronto and Whitney, Ontario, Mr.& Mrs.Melvin Payette of Port Arthur visited with their daughter and family, Mr. & Mrs.Harvey Carmichael and on to Terrace Bay to visit another daughter & family, Mr. & Mrs. Falzetta,. Miss Marion Ley of Port Arthur called on old friends here enroute from Hamilton to Port Arthur. Mr.& Mrs. Arnoid Burns returned from a month's holiday in the West, their son Floyd of Lynn Lake, Manitoba, accompanying them for a vacation, Mr.& Mrs. Doug.McBride & family of Kenora visited with his Mother, Mrs.H.McBride and other members of the family over the Thanks- giving weekend. Archie Freed, accompanied by Shireen and Beulah McBride visited at the home of his parents, Mr.& Mrs.C.Freed, Neepawa, Manitoba for the thanksgiving holiday. Miss Ora Mae Harness of McKellar hospital School of Nursing was at home over the week- end, accompanied by Diana Midwinter of Fort William. THRONGS PAY LAST RESPECTS TO GARNET NESBITT St.Andrews United Church was filled to capacity on Friday afternoon at 2:30 for the funeral of the late Garnet Nesbitt, son of Mr.& Mrs. J.C,Nesbitt whose untimely death occurred last week, Pall bearers were Avery Duncan, Tom McCuaig, D, Fletcher, Murray Clark, Colin Trivers and Ted Graham, Rev, R.C.Crook officiated and Mrs. R.H.Skinner was organist. The Senior Choir was in attendance and two hymns were sungi, Garnet is survived by his Mother and Father, Grandparents, Mr.& Mrs. E,Lawson, brothers Neil, Keith, Lorne and Roy and sisters Irene and Helen, Mrs.T.Pelto, Terrace Bay and sever- al Uncles and Aunts and Cousins in the district. Interment was in Schreiber Cemetery with Gawley' Funeral Service in charge of arrangements. Attending from out of town were Mrs. Leo Parent and Mr.M.Micus, White River, A. Duncan, Mrs.Gordon McCuaig, Mrs.R.Hutchison and Mrs. W.Foster of Fort William, Mrs. V.Axelson of Geraldton and Mr.John Miller of Port Arthur. On Friday, October 14th about twenty-five Knights and their ladies attended a social in the Schreiber Town Hall. Sponsored by St.Edward's Council No,3554, the evening featured refreshments, cabaret style, a buffet lunch and dancing to music supplied by R.Stortini's hi-fi set. , | KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS HOLD SOCIAL EVENING RUBY REBEKAH LODGE PLANS DINNER OCTOBER 19TH Ruby Rebekah Lodge met in regular session on Wednesday, October 12th with Mrs. A.Morris, V.G, acting as Noble Grand and Mrs.Pearl Hiller; P.N.G. as Vice Grand. Mrs,R,Macadam was acting } Secretary in the absence of Mrs.A.Laine,. Mrs.Morris gave the Sick & Visiting reports 'tand Mrs.E.Grover the C.P.T, report, stating that the Committees fund-raising project is taking orders for nylons and candies. Mrs.J.Plummer gave the Semi-Annual report of. the Property Committee, Mrs.B.Whent read the Treasurer's reports and Mrs.H.Wallace gave the Financial Secretary's reports. A wreath was ordered for Remembrance day and donations were given to the Schreiber Children's Aid Committee and the Students Award fund of the High School Home & School Association, A dinner in honour of Mrs,Louise Clark, Pres-+ ident of the Rebekah Assembly will be held in the Mayfair Hotel on Wednesday, October 19th at 5 P.M. A special meeting will be held follow- ing the dinner at 8 P.M, in the Lodge room when the President will make her official visit. In stallation of Officers will be held on October | 26th.
