In a double round series Peggy with Jessie Ratchford third, Joan Charbon, second ' and Mary Lou Covello lead captured the Hud- sonts Bay Trophy, emblematic of the Club ' Championship. Never in any trouble and displaying some pretty fine curling this rink played their last game against the Romaniuk rink to en- sure the Championship and avoid a four-way tie. As it now stands there is a two-way : tie between Ida Romaniuk and Syl Duquette ; for runner-up, : « The Ladies sixth Annual Bonspiel wound up on Sunday afternoon with two Perrace Bay rinks skipped by Peggy Wellings and Mary Hale vieing for the honour of winning the newly donated Northern Engineering and Supply Company Trophy, It was a close and exciting game all the way and it wasn't un- til the last end that the Welling Rink emerged victorious by one rock, Winners in the various events were as ; follows:- | Ist. Last weekend the Ladies Club held their Annual Bonspiel and this weekend a total of thirty-two rinks will participate in the Men's 12th Annual Bonspiel. Last week's edition was unfortunately de- layed in getting to Schreiber, The staff of the News, as usual, had the copies of the paper in the Post Office in Terrace Bay on Wednesday evening, However, the copies did not leave the Post Office until Thursday and consequently were not received in Schreiber until Friday, We received several calls about this but it was the first occurrence of its kind and we trust if does not happen again, The Annual Kiwanis Kiddies Karnival was the big event for all Terrace Bay Children last Saturday in the-Arena, The hard-working Kiwanians were put to the task sorting out. contestants for costume categories and the speed and specialty skating races, The lovely Carnival Queen, Miss Annette Boudreau selected by her classmates from the High School, assisted by Princesses Diane Paulsen from the Public School and Jean Stuart from the St. Martin's Separate School, presented the awards at the close of the events, Judging costumes was handled by Mrs, W.E, Cavanaugh, Mrs. D,Gillis and Miss Judy McCaus- land and winners were:- Best Ghost - Joanne Tramp ~ Ricky Hamilton; Most Original - the three Kennedys who also walked off with the Racing winners were:- Danny Gresdal, Timmy Kenny Turner, Billy Brend, Jamie Cumming
