COMMUNITY CHURCH LADIES HOLD MEETINGS The regular monthly meeting of the Ladies auxiliary was held -lionday, March 7th in the Community Church, The meeting opened with a hymn accompanied at the piano by lirs,Marg, Simmer end Mrs,Evelyn Partington gave the Scripture reading and led in prayer, The President, Mirs,Virginia Galvin welcomed the excellend turnout of ladies attending and requested the Secretary, wis,Alice Farrow, to read the minutes of the past meeting and correspondence received. lMrs,Helen West presented the Treasurer's report. Reports of convenors were as follows: Publicity, urs,V.ikepke reported posters on display for the Fashion Show; Property, lirs, Beatrice MacFadyen, requested any ladies having «auxiliary tea towels still at home to bring them ing Sick & Visiting, Mrs,Tina Young reported six cards sent out; Membership, Mrs,Gertrude Soughton had contacted members regarding the meeting; and lunch report by hirs audrey Smith. The President reported ticket sales on the Spring Fashion Show and Luncheon were well underway and that no tickets would be sold at the door. Tedn Town Variety Night. aA hearty welcome is ex~ tended to everyone to attend the gala evening. and enjoy the entertainment and dancing in the High School duditoriun, # special invitation is extended to the parents, Heré, in one evening, they can see the fine type of programme that the teenagers experience through their association with Teen| Towne Besides-the social dancing, there will be several entertainment numbers, The programme will be handled night-club style, with tables for those ettending and entertainment inter-~ spersed with dancing. Highlights of the evening will be the Dance Contest and the Tcen Queen Contest. Winners in these contests will represent Terrace Bay in the Northwestern Ontario. Youth Conference competition in Marathon in April. The wance Contest will consist of the polka cha=cha and waltz. The Teen Queen contestants will be judged on talent, beauty, personality et cetera and will make three appearances each, One will be their talent presentation, another an appear= ance in formal dress and the third in -- costume. The colour party was formed by Lorne Turner, Fred Erickson and Jim Hayes, all of the Beaver Patrol. 4 visitor for the evening, Scouter Wills, A U.C., told of a first aid course then pre- snted four leaders with certificates, Then Lee iicKay was invested, After instruction in signalling, the boys played floor hockey.
