Gordon, former Pulp Mill Super- intendent at Terrace Bay spent his time at the mill and then on the evening of October 17th he addressed the Supervisors of the LongLac Pulp and Paper Company at a dinner at the Hotel Terrace, Gordon's talk was in connection with the pulp mill at Chihuahua, Mexico, with which the Kimberly-Clark Corporation have a maragement contract. Gordon was on the Kimberly-Clark team which first went to Mexico and his talk was most (Cont, on next col.) Page 4 AROUND THE TOWN (Cont.) interesting, He covered the climate, the people and described the mill set up in Mexico and told the group that the Longlac trainers at the mill in Mexico were getting along very well, In Terrace Bay with Gordon was his wife Elaine, daughter Vanda and son Ian who visited friends while in tow. On Saturday, October 20th ten guests were present to join in celebrating Bobby Gould's fifth birthday. Some lovely gifts were received, It took the form of a Hallowe'en party and the children came in costume, After games and records were played, a tasty lunch was served, and the children returned home with their party favours. The electricians and their wives held a Hallowe'en Party Saturday evening, Oct. 20th in the Curling Club Lounge, Games and dancing were enjoyed by the group through- out the evening, Prizes for the most original costumes went to Irene Evers and Ted McInnes, while Rita and Joe Cavanaugh bagged the most comical costume prize. A midnight supper was served by Leon. Highlight of the evening was a pre- sentation to Mary and Harry Byers who leave shortly to make their home in the States, Mary and Harry will be missed by the crew, The next meeting of the Dim Bulbs will be held at the home of Mrs. Ethyle Boyd, Pine Crescent on Tuesday evening, Oct. 30th. Mrs, Joey Semeniuk' entertained at her home, PoplarCrescent, Wednesday afternoon for Mrs. Rose Buffett, who leaves Friday with husband Cecil to take up residence in Elliott Lake, A tea set was presented to Rose on behalf of her many friends. Assist- ing Mrs. Semeniuk with the tea were Mesdames Aggie Sinkins, Elsie Stevens, Freda Knight and Ann Latour, The Ratchfords have just returned from holidays, Jessie travelling to Toronto, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati where she visited a cousin and Chicago visiting a sister, Duluth and home. Bert also went to Toronto, then to Kenora before returning home, Mrs. Ploughman returned Thursday, Oct. 18th to the home of her daughter, Mrs. Harry Smith in Terrace Bay after visiting in New- foundland for the past six months and lastly in Toronto. Dorothy and Stan Yaromy arrived home Saturday from their holidays spent visiting friends in Toronto, St. Catharines and sault Ste. Marie, o-0~o
