The tuition fee for the Applied Electricity class will be thirteen dollars ($13.00), payable in advance, and the fee for the stenographic class will be ten dollars ($10.00), payable in advance. If sufficient registrations are received, classes will be organized for the week of November 5th, 0-0-0 BRING A NEIGHBOUR TO CHURCH The Kiwanis Club of Terrace Bay are asking all groups and organizations to get behind their efforts for Sunday, November 4th which is being set aside jointly by both the Terrace Bay Community Church and the St. Martin's Parish for a "Bring A Neighbour to Church" Sunday. It is felt that this effort is a fine start toward maintaining a good attendance each and every Sunday, 0-0-0 HOME BINGO Sponsored by the Women of the Moose was won by Mrs. Jan Hall and Mrs, Hilda Valiquette, Page 3 FIRE PREVENTION NEWS Claim Chesterfield Smoke Can Kill 15, Order Inguest : Chief Coroner Dr, Smirle Lawson announced today an inquest will be held into the deaths of a family of six who perished in a fire on Glenmore Rd, early Saturday. Experts say enough smoke'can be generated by an average size chesterfield chair to suffocate 15 persons, Mr, and Mrs, Leonard Burt and their children, Mary Ann, 113; Michael, nine; Margaret, six; and David, five, died in the fire. It was one of the worst house tragedies in Toronto's history. They might have saved their lives if they had thrown the windows open in the second floor room, but apparently they thought they would be able to get out safely the police said. Dr, Lawson said the bodies were burned after the six were asphyxiated. o-0-0 HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY NEWS AND NOTES An intersting and varied programme has been arranged for the general meeting of the Society which will be heldin the SMALL meeting room at the Rec, Centre at 8:00 p.sm. on Friday, October 26th. Films and slides of our Annual Show will be shorn, Mr, G,. Sievers will address the meeting on the subject of "Soils and Fertilizers", All members wishing to have a soil test made, please bring a sample of their soil in a small plastic bag to the meeting. The V.M, Chestnut talks are in at Chapples Schreiber. Anyone interested in these is urged to pick them up at the store. The Society has surplus back talks at their disposal which may be obtained at the general meeting, 0-0-0 ART CLUB NEWS Regular art classes are held each Thursday at 8:00 pem. in the large meeting room of the Rec.
