And hasn't shown up since at home, 0-0-0 ROYAL LIFE SAVING AWARDS ACHIEVED It was.with considerable effort and work that six of our teen-age boys and girls were qualified for their first chance to pass a Royal Life Saving Test in Terrace. The examiner was Mr, Norm West, who during the summer months is a Red Cross examiner and also a Royal Life Saving examiner, The following are the awards won: Bronze Medallion - Barry Marquis, Marvin Steen, Joe Marcella, George Dennis. Intermediate Life Saving Certificate Carolyn Thompson and Helen Dennis. MARATHON SWIM MEET This year, bigger and better than ever, there will be a swim meet in Marathon on August llth, and we hope we will have swimmers competing from Terrace Bay, Red Rock, Manitouwadge and Marathon. We are selecting the swimmers now who will re- present our town. In order to get in shape. for this meet, we must train every day in the water, Be sure to come out and swim, if you are selected. Transportation will be Shedod for this event, and we would appreciate any adults whic. could drive some swimmers to Marathon on this date, to phone the Rec, Office and let us know. Page 3 RECREATION FLYER (Cont, ) ; LACROSSE Wednesday night we had our first lacrosse practise with an instructor, We are starting into this activity with the kids from the ages of 12-15 years. We hope the older male group will play this good game and get in condition for the winter activities, This Friday night our boys are scheduled to play in'Marathon at 8:00 o'clock, For this trip we will need transportation. If you can help out, please phone the Rec. Office. We are also trying to get a group of the older boys to go down to Marathon on Friday. Marathon will have a team of older men to play if we can take down a team, LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL We have had a postponed game now for two weeks, first because of the number of boys away at camp, and secondly because of the Rossport Derby. This Saturday we will play this game. The first game, the Dodgers play the Yankees; the second game, the Red Sox play the Braves. Be out, and remember we begin to play at 10:00 a.m, at the large field. PONY LEAGUE We will have a game between the Dusters and Walkers this Sunday at 3:00 pem. Team captains, get your teams lined up for this game, ROLLER SKATING This is just a reminder to you that we roller skate in our Arena every Thursday night from 8:00 until 10:30, Come out and enjoy yourself, with the good music and program drawn up for the evening's fun. TERRACE BAY LADIESt SOFTBALL On Tuesday, July 17th the Terrace Bay Ladies! Softball team defeated the Schreiber ladies, with a score of 11-8, on the Terrace Bay diamond.
