ladies Acolumn RECIPE OF THE WEEK BLUEBERRY CRUNCH CAKE 1/3 cup shortening 7/8 cup sugar al egg, beaten light hy 2 tsp. 'saith fe tsp. nutmeg 1 cup blueberries 2-1/2 cups sifted allpurpose flour h tsps, baking powder 1-1/4 cups milk, Topping 3/h tbsp. margarine (or butter) ie tbsps, sugar Cream shortening with sugar; thoroughly.mix in.egg (beaten until light), nutmeg and salt, Set aside for moment, Resift flour with baking powder, Into this mix the washed, thoroughly drained, dried berries, Fold resultant mixture, alternately with 1-1/4 cups milk, into creamed ingredients, prepared first and set aside, Pour Batter into greased baking dish to depth of 1-1/2 inches. Dop top with 3/4 tablespoon butter (or margarine); sprinkle with 2 tablespoons sugar. Bake about 35 minutes--or until done---in moderately hot oven (375 deg. Suckett of Fort William left Wednesday following a visit with their sons, Tony and John Delaronde and ~ their families. A brother-in-law and sister, Mir. and Mrs, Fred Shwetz and family of Nipigon, along with Myrna Risk were guests of theirs last week, Isabelle, John and Bryan will leave with Mr, and Mrs. Suckett on Wednesday to accompany them as far as Nipigon and spend a few cays there. Mrs, Vange Slattery is reported doing very well in McKellar Hospitel, following her operation there last Monday. Norah and Curtis Gotten of Fort William were visitors with Gert and Reg Cotton last weekend, * Mr. and Mrs, Gordon Brown and Doreen of Port Arthur were guests of {heir daughter and son-in-law, Virginia and Gary Galvin and family for a few days last week, Doreen will remain for another two weeks in Terrace Bay. Rev. Irving Fraser and his wife Carol spent the weekend in Terrace Bay before they continued on to Hudsen Bay, Sask. to take over his church duties.
