JACK HUSBAND TO RiTIREON APRIL 22, 1955, John W. Husband, purchasing represent- ative in the Port Artnur office of the LongLac Pulp and Paper Company, Limited, of Terrace Bay, will work his last day for the company April 22nd as he reaches retire- ment age, "Jack" Husband has been representing Kimberly-Clark corporation and affiliated purchasing interests in Ontario since 1942 and was responsible for organizing the Port Arthur office in 1946 for the LongLac Pulp and Paper Company. During his years as buyer, Mr, Husband was responsible for purchases in the Lakehead area for Woodlands operations at Longlac, Ontario, and for the company mill at Terrace Bay. As well-liked as he is well-known in the Lakehead area, Mr. Husband is credited with having secured outstanding cooperation from suppliers throughout the district, Prior to his association with Kimberly-Clark and its subsidiary, LongLac Pulp and Paper Company, Mr, Husband was in the wholesale grocery business for 32 years, the last 10 of those years as a manager and buyer. He does not expect to retire from business activity, but his plans for the future are still incomplete. 0-0-0 CURLING CLUB NEWS Jim MacDonald Rink Win Club Championship For the third consecutive year the MacDonald foursome curled their way to the Imperial Bank Trophy emblematic of the men's club championship. The Club Championship went right down to the wire as the MacDonald rink had to win their last game to beat out the Thor Olsen rink, Under the point system used the Olsen rink were only 3-1/2 points be- hind the MacDonald rink for the runner up spot. Johnson, So another curling season is pretty well wrapped up and congratulations are in order for the winners and runners up in each division. To wind up the season the Terrace Bay Curling Club are holding their Annual Bonspiel this weekend, April 15, 16 and 17th. There will be 32 rinks entered. Twenty outside rinks and l2 local rinks, After that the elections for the 1955-56 executive will be held and finally the Club Annual Banquet on May 7, 1955 at the Terrace Bay High School, Curlers - don't forget that date for the Banquet and wind-up, May 7, 1955. 0-0-0 SILVER BIRCH CHAPTER The regular meeting of the Silver Birch Chapter 0.H.S. was held on Monday, April llth with the Worthy Matron, Mrs, D. Rummery presiding. The date of the Annual Strawberry Bridge was announced as Friday, June 10th, This year it will be held in the Auditorium. The winner of the hand-made quilt being raffled will be announced that night. The Officers took part in a beautiful Easter ceremony with chorei accompaniment, At the conclusion of the business, a delicious lunch was served by lirs, P, Rattray and her committee, An Easter cake complete with bunnies, not only looked delightful but made wonderful eating, 0-0-0 SUOUTS AND WOLF CUBS Wolf Cub camp this year will be from July 8th to 12th inclustve. Scout Camp will be July 12th to 19th, Due to Mill Shutdown there will be no Scout meeting this week.
