"POPS" DANCE CLUB STARTS We started them off on slow, jump tunes but 90 minutes and 15,000 calories later they said: "Put on somethin' fast, somethin' Juveyes That happened last Monday night at the initial session of the Terrace Bay 'Pops" Dance Club, held in the High School. 'The turnout was heavier than expected. Approxim- ately 30 teen-agers, including some from Schreiber, rolled back the rug and exchanged the marrow in their bones for rhythm, Once the 'tteeners were started off on the right foot, they couldn't be stopped. Enthusiasm mounted steadily. 'The opening Session was concentrated on jitterbugging, but later programs will include South American, the Charleston, fox trots and other modern steps, Capable instructors were Mavis Nelson, Merle Aho, Bill Bohonis and Eddy Aho all of whom are donating their talents, The next class will be held Monday, May 4th, at 7:00 p.m. This group is non-profit, The fee of 25¢ per person is waived for next week, as sufficient money has been collected to cover at least two nights? rent, Additional informetion may be obtained from the instructors or Don Weighell. 0-0-0 A SERVICE THAT BELONGS TO ALL People talk about the "Red Cross blood bank" -- the term is convenient, easy to remember. Yet the blood bank really belongs to all the people in the region. Red Cross is simply the agency which collects and distributes the blood for the good of all, Thus blood donated at a Red Cross clinic is a gift to Canada, to the donor's own community, to his neighbor, to a member of his family - perhaps to himself. Keep May llth open - for your blood donation, 0-0-0 UNIFORMS MISSING All softball players who have uniforms from last year's All-Star Team are asked to turn these in immediately to Ed Pineault who at the moment seems to be holding the bag. This number is exceedingly gratifying but is still short of the minimum goal of two hundred and sixty seven, Because some of our people were away on holidays or were absent on the day the canvasser called, it is just possible that enough season tickets may still be wanted to enable us to reach the desired goal, If the response had been weak, the Committee would have dropped further activity but with so many interested, one last effort is in order, There is still time to Sign up to help imake a Season of concerts possible in Terrace Bay. So, of you were not at home, or were undecided before, and if you are sincerely interested in bringing good music into our community, please contact one of the canvassers listed below sometime before May 3rd and ask that your family be put down for one or more season tickets, Canvassers Mrs, Harry Goodfellow Mrs, Bill Borsum Mrs. A.
