CURLING NES Jim MacDonald came through in fine style to win the Hudson's Bay Trophy (Winn- er's side) by defeating Thor Olsen in a thrilling 12 ender,. Congratulations, fellas for a fine bonspiel!!! Imperial Bank Event: On Sunday last, Gord Dodge won out over Thor Olsen, thereby causing a 4 way tie for first place in the Section "A" of this event, and as a result of the draw Ostling came up - against tlellings and Dodge was matched with Sinkins, In the game between Ostling and Wellings they were all tied up coming home on the final end and with Wellings having last rock, Rune was sitting in for one. Jack hada rarity - he missed his last shot - and Rune won 9-8. Nice going Rune and Jack, don't feel too bad, they even do that in the Dom- inion Curling finals, they tell us. Alex Sinkins gave Gord Dodge a working over to the tune of 14-5. This means, there- fore, that Ostling-and Sinkins will meet on Tuesday night to decide the winner of this Section, Man, what a game this will be!! In Section "B" Jim MacDonald squeaked through with a close win over Tommy Latour and followed this up with a close win over Johnny Garvin. Garvin, by losing this game, was eliminated and left A, MacDonald and J. MacDonald with 8 wins and 3 losses each, As if this wasn't enough, Nels Allen camé thru in fine style to defeat Bill Baillie and he too wound up with an 8-3 record, js a res- ult of the draw - 4, MacDonald got the bye - and on Tuesday last J.
