The following are exempt from fast: shift workers, mothers with small children, pregnant women, teachers and nurses, Others must obtain exemption from their parish priest or confessor, Abstinence - Everyone from the age of seven must abstain from meat on days of abstinence. Complete abstinence must be observed on all Fridays, and on Holy Sat- urday until noon. Partial abstinence - i.e., meat once a day - must be observed .by all on Wednesdays during Lent, Easter Duty This precept must be observed by all. The, time allowed for its fulfilment is from Ash Wed, (Feb. 18) to Trinity Sun. (May 31).
