The first two all-girl hockey teams had it out on the ice recently, It was a hard and- fast battle between the Whirlwinds and the Droop-a-longs,. + ite At the first of the game it appeared that the Droop~a-longs had the upper hand (or foot?) when Carol Holford assisted by Myrna Wainwright scored the first goal, It was not long, however, before Charmaine Dodge, assisted by Marlene Steen evened things up with a goal for the Whirlwinds, Tho score was tied 1-1, and for a while it was a tense, exciting battle, Then in the last few seconds of the game, Grace Marcotte, assisted by Rita Vezina scored the winning goal, the Whirlwinds winning 2-1, The girls had a well-informed referee - but no whistle.
