HI-iOCKEY NEWS Stop the press! This is an outstanding event in the history of Terrace Bay Hockey. The first two all-girl hockey teams had it out on the ice recently, It was a hard and- fast battle between the Whirlwinds and the Droop-a-longs,. + ite At the first of the game it appeared that the Droop~a-longs had the upper hand (or foot?) when Carol Holford assisted by Myrna Wainwright scored the first goal, It was not long, however, before Charmaine Dodge, assisted by Marlene Steen evened things up with a goal for the Whirlwinds, Tho score was tied 1-1, and for a while it was a tense, exciting battle, Then in the last few seconds of the game, Grace Marcotte, assisted by Rita Vezina scored the winning goal, the Whirlwinds winning 2-1, The girls had a well-informed referee - but no whistle. There were no penalties in the game, but numerous minor injuries result- ing from tripping over the blue lines, It will not be long, Hockey Fans, before another game is scheduled between these two well-matched teams, They do not, however, feel that they are quite ready to take on the Pee Wees as yet. o-0-0 JUVENILE GAME - SATURDAY, FEB. 14 - 8:30 PM On Saturday night our promising Senior prospects who are now juvenile will play Chapleau Juveniles at the Schreiber Arena at 8:30 p.m, Last week-end the Schreiber "ices", consist of Terrace Bay and Schreiber boys journeyod to Chapleau and with the beautiful team-work of both teams, ended with a 4-4 tie, The attendance at that game was 750, which showed great encouregement to the players.
