Page 5 CURLING The District Curling Bonspiel held in Terrace Bay and Schreiber on Saturday, March 4th and Sunday, March 5th was a tremendous success. Especially so, when four local rinks won all of the hcnours, A total of 16 rinks were entered representing Marathon, Schreiber, Red Rock and Terrace Bay, The first draw was played on Saturday night at 6:30 pem. on Terrace Bay ice and from then on until Sunday night there was Curling galore, Rune Ostling's rink of Fred McMillan, Steve Valigrodsky and Dick Lumbers took home top honours with Malcolm Craig's rink of Gordon Dodge, Lorne Woodard and Glen Gooderham finishing up in second place. In the Consolation Series, Sandy Downie's rink of Bill Baillie, Tom Latour end Bill McGraw emerged victorious with Ernie Haight's squad of Jim McLeod, Jack Johnson and Walter Gabrielson taking the second place slot. After completion of the Bonspiel on Sunday night a short " get together " was held in Teen Town, during which prizes were presented to the winning rinks, Rune Ostling's rink received hams donated by Superior Packing Company, while the second place rink re- ceived sides of bacon presented by the Locker Plant, Consolation prizes were Ronson Lighters, courtesy of Hudson's Bay Company and shirts donated by Ball Motors, o-0-0 WANTED One or two rooms for young couple and child, Required by middle of April.
