Feature of the affair will be Maurice Jackson's GREAT LAKES GIRLS ORCHESTRA, a l5epiece aggregation, complete with a "bangeup" Floor Show. This organization has just completed its fifth cross country tour which took it, among other places, to Toronto, for a guest appearance om a 0.1.0. Network Broadcast and to one of Toronto's favourite night spots, "Club Top Hat", where many famous American name..bands have appeared, With dancing from 9:30 p.m. to 1:50 a.m (Cabaret Style) this event may-be one of the highlights of the season at Terrace Bay, and we feel certain that the Praser-Brace committee will be well rewarded for its efforts by the: support of everyang.who can attend. , es Soft drinks will be sold at the dance and it is expected that the Snack Bar will remain open for the event, Tickets are now available ($2.50 per couple) and as only a limited crowd can be accommodated, it's a case of first come first served, although couples may procure tickets at the door if any remain unsold. Other members of the committee are Jack Wellings, Cliff Knauff, Jim Whyte and Nelson Newton, If a Curling Rink is built this year it will be an all-out community effort and at the present time the committee is busy lining up volunteer labour for the construction of the rink, The question as to the availability of material will be answered within the next few days. Anyone who is interested in donating time to the construction of a curling rink, if one is built, should contact any member of the Committee named above or Fred Soughton in the LongLac Personnel Office (Local 16), In a new community such as ours, abmmunity' spirit often reaches a high level, and this is a real opportunity to show what can be done at Terrace Bay with respect to the development of facilities for use by a minority group, even during the construction period. If the proposed project is completed, we may well be proud of our achievement. woidsllaid In 1908, an old soda pulp mill at Brompton, Quebec, was reconstructed as a sulphate pulp mill, the first in North America, sii ae
