Page #5 HOUSE ERECTED IN RECORD TIME A seven-men North American Buildings crew created somewhat of a record at Terrace Bay on Thursday, August 2th, when they erected a prefabricated house in the short span between 7:40 a.m. and 3:30 p.m, with an hour off for lunch. The log of the erection of House #183 follows: 7340 a.m. Erection truck arrived on the site 8:24 a.m. First floor walls in place 9:50 a.m, First floor ceiling in place 10:50 a.m. Gables and upstairs partitions in place 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. Lunch hour 1:40 pim. Lake Trout off Victoria Cape with a copper spinner to take over 1st spot in the Lake Trout class. . L. H. Larson hooked a 3 1b. 10 oz: Pickerel about 15 miles up river with a Daily Double piug, Bill Allen latched on to a 31h. 1 ow, Speckled at the mouth of the Aguasabon with a June Bug spinner and thereby hangs a tale. Bill was fishing with Tom Kelly, Secretary of the Fish and Game Association. Tom had just lost the speckled (when his line broke) which now gives Bill Allen claim to 2nd position in the Speckled Class. How do we know? The only typewriter on the job had to be sent to Port Arthur for repairs and Jim Isbester, engineer in churge at the time, was writing his reports longhand. Crews and staff travelled back and forth from the Staff House in Schreiber. 12 Months Ago at Terrace Bay At the Millsite, mill clearing was 90% complete........work continued on the south wall of the Pulp Storage Bldg. In the Townsite 8 houses had been erected...... 3 basements were complete,.,.-...clearing had been completed on all streets approved.
