NEW _BUILDING..........-NOW IN USE AS THEATRE The new dual purpose cafeteria and recreation Wilding in the Lower Camp was used for movies for the first time on Monday, August 4th and from all reports the building is particularly well suited for moving pictures as the sound re- production is good and the screen can be seen easily from any seat in the hall. This will be welcome news to the thousands who have jammed the old Recreation Hall during the past nine months (20,231 to be exact) despite diffieulty in . seeing the screen. For the time being, regular shows will be held Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday with special edueational films booked for each Sunday evening. ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH MEN ORGANIZE Representing the Roman Catholie Church group at Terrace Bay, Catholic men meton Monday, August 4th at the Millsite Office to discuss a number of important matters. The group decided that two committees would be charged with the res- ponsibility of drafting future plans. Paul Boudreau was chosen as Chairman of the Finance Com ittee while Ed Cavanaugh was seleeted as Chairwan of the Building Committee. Each chairman will select the members for his respective committee, From time to time, the progress of these committees will be reported in Terrace Bay News. NEW STATION MASTER APPOINTMENT Effective August 2nd, Frank 4. McKenna was appointed Station Master for the Canadian Pacific Railway at Terrace Bay. Formerly on operator in this division, Mr. McKenna was an agent at Angler prior to his transfer to Mackey in the Sudbury division where he was agent for nearly six years preceding his Terrace Bay appointment. A veteran of the First Great War, Mr. McKenna is married. (His wife is the former Miss Boon of nearby Schreiber.) The MeKennas have. one child. We welcome Frank McKenna to Terrace Bay. Wednesday, July 30, 1947 = It has been a warm day but veteran Terrace Bay engineer, Bob Sheppard appeared cool as he assumed the role of groom at his wedding.
