NORSHORRfeENTINEL â€" THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 24, 1960 7 RED ROCK RAMBLINGS By MRS. F. McAULEY A "personal" column like this is usually suppose to contain the names of visitors in town. Well if that was the case we'd need a whole page for Red Rock this week. The town has been hopping over the weekend while playing host to curlers from as far away as Marathon, Geraldton and Fort William . . . and enjoying every minute of it. Haven't the space for the visitors "in town" so here are a few who went "out of town." Mr. and Mrs. Fred Roy, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Gannon ,Bernice Roy, Mr. and Mrs. Orval Roy and Mr. and Mrs. Roger Rioux all travelled to Fort William over the weekend to attend the 50th anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Dorval. The Dorvals are pioneer residents of Red Rock now living in Fort William. Two recent important visitors to the community were Sid Williams, vice-president of St. Lawrence Corp., who donates the trophy for the annual Legion bonspiel and Lorette and Sid Prior who had the Belles and Beaus hopping Saturday night at a successful square dance session. Sorry to hear about Mrs, W. Charbonneau's recent unfortunate accident. She is presently in hospital at the Lakehead. Many kind compliments were passed on to the Legion and the people responsible for the Remembrance Day tea, the services and the banquet, especially for the table decorations at the tea and banquet. The very suitable centrepiece depicted a cenotaph with two lowered flags. There were small replicas on each table at the tea. The United Church Tea Wednesday was a standout success with B. Lysnes as convenor. It was held at the Legion hall. Mrs. R. Dawes and Mrs. C. Anderson were in charge of the tea tables while Mrs. O. Paju and Mrs. G. Kirby received at the door. Mrs. J. Marks, Mrs. L. Grace, Mrs. B. Lord and Mrs. M. Kuruliak poured tea while servitors were Mrs. J. McLeod, Mrs. W. Perkins and Mrs. L. Dunville. Replenishes included Mrs. R. Dawes, Mrs. J. Hargraves and Mrs. C. Anderson. DATES TO REMEMBER: St. Hiliary's Turkey Bingo.. Dec.. 5 at 8:30 in the Parish Hall . . . and of course Sunday's hockey game between the Royals and Nipigon Flyers.
