Photo by Glena Clearwater Chase Rink Wins NIPIGON (Special) â€" The annual open mixed bonspiel held at the Nipigon Curling Club last weekend saw John Chase, of Nipigon skip his rink to victory. The Chase rink, comprised of Joyce Ray and Gladys and Toki Oyakawa played an extra end against Dennis Cassidy's Nipigon rink to win the event. Third in the main competition was Andy Skabar of Nipigon while the Barry Smart rink, also of Nipigon placed fourth. In consolation play Jim Foulds, of Red Rock won the top honors, while Ollie Imhoff, also of Red Rock placed second. Third was Brent Sands, of Nipigon and George Ruth, also of Nipigon placed fourth. Third event winner was the Larry Dunville rink, of Red Rock, with Stan Pristanski, Red Rock second, Ross Spencer, Red Rock third and Bob Swanson, Nipigon, fourth. First rink out was the Andy Parker rink, of Nipigon. Bill Halabiski's rink took honors as the team scoring the largest number of points in one end. TIMES-NEWS, Thunder Bay June 21/76 TRACK MEET TODAY AT RED ROCK The district track and field meet of the Nipigon-Red Rock-Dorion schools will be held today at Red Rock hosted by St. Hilary's School. Nipigon Public School will be represented in the event by Sheila Linton (lying down after making high jump) and athletes standing from left, Bruce Koski, junior; Steven Vaughan, intermediate; Arden Fawcett, senior and Renalda Rogers, senior.
