Mr. and Mrs. Russel and Michael, I've enclosed a clipping from today's edition of the Ottawa Citizen - just in case you hadn't seen it. I just had to write to tell you how the picture touched me- I cried. I still do when I look at it. I see a young child's once in a lifetime dream broken. I see a child bundled up against the cold with probably a long wait only to miss the flame. I see a child who has been primed in school for a long time about the flame and the Olympics only to miss it. His eyes, tears, the look on his face are priceless. I just wanted to let you know this- and if I could bring the flame to him I would! I'll treasure the picture always. A fellow Canadian, Lynn Kelly This is a photocopy. 28 cm (h) x 21.5 cm (w)
