- Description
- Built by the Niagara Navigation Company in 1894, the Chippewa was one of the impressive steamers crossing the lake. It was 311 feet long with many luxuries on board including a salon that was 192 feet in length. Shown here passing the dock area, headed upstream on its Niagara, Lewiston, Queenston and Toronto run, the Chippewa retired in 1936 after forty-two years of service.
