Description
This bayonet would have been designed to fit on the muzzle of a Brown Bess musket. It is slightly bent at the tip and unique markings on the blade include: a crown with “31”, “I. Salter” and what looks to be a carved “I”. The bayonet blade is 42cm long x 2.5cm wide and the socket is 9.5cm long.

The bayonet sheath would have been designed to fit on the bayonet of a Brown Bess musket. It is black leather with a gold coloured metal tip and frog (used to mount it onto belt). Its length is 42 cm. It does not appear to belong to this bayonet but it is still grouped with it.
