Description
A button from the 10th Royal Veteran Battalion. In the center is a band of fine circular lines that surround the number “10” with “RV” below it. There is also a crown that tops the circle. This button which has had several pieces broken away is made of a metal, possibly pewter, and measures 1.7 cm in diameter.

This regiment was at Michilimackinac, Frenchtown and Miami. Commanding Officers of this regiment include: Henry Zouch (July 1812-May 1813), and Donald MacPherson (June 1813- February 1815). In addition to this corps there was a small body of “Mounted Veterans”, under Lt. Chettle, that consisted of 2 sergeants, 15 privates and 17 horses.
