- This is the military commission appointing James Thompson as Ensign in the 2nd Regiment of the Lincoln Militia of which Thomas Clark was the Lieutenant Colonel. It was issued in the name of Isaac Brock, President Administering the Government of Upper Canada and Major General Commanding his Majesty’s forces therein on June 29, 1812. It is signed by Brock in the right corner and includes the red wax seal in the upper left corner.
