- This is a two dollar Province of Upper Canada Army bill from 1814. Initially, the government of Lower Canada issued £250,000 in dollar denominations and later on raised it to £1.5 million. These bills were accepted in both Upper and Lower Canada. This currency would have been used to pay troops and to buy provisions during the War of 1812-1814. Following the war, these bills were redeemed in full.
