- An estimate of damage done on the Robert Nelles (1761-1842) property at Forty Mile Creek by the United States Army during their encampment on the premises. The list of damages included items such as livestock, a wagon, a harness, 25 acres of land, and barrels of flour. Total damages on the property amounted to 1352 dollars.
Nelles was a Lieutenant-colonel of the 4th Regiment of the Lincoln Militia by the end of the War. He was also known to have been a Justice of the Peace and performed many marriages during the war. The 4th Lincoln was involved in the Battles of Queenston Heights and Lundy's Lane. - Date Of Event
