The Consortium is comprised of local historical agencies such as the Six Nations Public Library, Woodland Cultural Centre and Deyohahge Indigenous Knowledge Centre at Six Nations Polytechnic. This event will allow community members to visit with our members, search our historical data and find out if they had a relative that fought during the war. It will also give community members the opportunity to continue the legacy that our ancestors have left behind by allowing them to share photos, stories, or knowledge about their ancestors who were involved in the war in any fashion. There will be digital scanners to copy any documents, maps, or photos you are willing to share, and forms available on site to share your family stories about our veterans of the War of 1812. In addition to this there will be brochures, handouts and other items available to be given away while supplies last. The Six Nations Legacy Consortium also has plans for the upcoming War of 1812 Commemoration so make sure to attend this important event and learn about our future programs.
