Black and white negative of a photograph of a stereograph showing a view of Whitby looking south taken from the Ontario County Courthouse. The intersection of Ontario and Centre Streets is at the bottom left corner. The house in the foreground was purchased in 1864 by James Rowe Philp. The Whitby Town Hall is visible in the upper left corner, it served from 1857-1879. Vanstone Terrace, built in 1859, is visible at the top right corner at the intersection of Centre and Pitt Streets.
