A black and white portrait photograph of Victor George Martin (1843-). This photograph is from a frame of portraits of members of Composite Lodge No. 30, AF & AM.
Notes:
Victor George Martin was born in the United States of America (U.S.A.) in 1843. He started a saddlery hardware business in Toronto in 1880 and in October 1887, Martin and Samuel Trees Sr. purchased the O'Donovan Carriage Factory located in the block bounded by Brock Street, Gilbert Street, Byron Street and Dunlop Street. Together, they converted it into Martin Manufacturing Company, a saddlery hardware factory (also called the Buckle Factory). In October 1903, Mr. Martin sold the factory to Fred Hatch and moved to Newark, New Jersey, U.S.A. due to ill health.
