A black and white portrait photograph of Robert Barnes (1853-1935).
Notes:
Robert Barnes was born in Cumberland County, England, on March 10, 1853 and came to Whitby with his father William Barnes, a carpenter, in 1856. Robert Barnes worked as a contractor and assisted his father in building All Saints' Anglican Church and many other Whitby buildings. He died at Whitby on June 30, 1935 and is buried at Union Cemetery, Oshawa.
