A black and white portrait photograph of Leslie Holis Matthew Perry.
Leslie Perry was born at Franktown, Ontario on December 7, 1922. He came with his parents Melvin S. Perry and Florence B. Perry to Whitby Township in 1928. In 1936 they settled at Port Whitby. Leslie attended school at Myrtle Station and Whitby and was a member of the Boys' Bible Class at St. John's Anglican Church in Port Whitby. He enlisted in the Canadian Army at Toronto in March 1941 and trained at Camp Borden and Debert, Novea Scotia. He went overseas in October 1942. He was a member of the Irish Regiment of Canada (R.C.I.C.). He was killed in action in Italy on May 26, 1944.

He is commemorated on Page 415 of the Second World War Book of Remembrance and his remains are at CASSINO WAR CEMETERY Italy.
