Description:
A black and white photograph of Heard's Livery Stable. Outside the stable are 3 unidentified persons on horse-drawn carts.
Notes:
This building was located at 149 Brock Street North. This livery stable dating from the 1850s was located on the east side of Brock Street south of the Royal Hotel. Before 1913 it was operated by Alexander Pringle and in 1913 it was sold to Joseph Heard. The three horse-drawn carriage teams in front of this picture are ready to proceed to a wedding. The house at the right was the home of Mr. Pringle and later Mr. Heard. In 1928 the house was moved to the south west corner of Brock and Mary Streets by R.J. Underwood.
The building was demolished in March 1921.
