Born 1836, Died, 1900

Married: Hannah Marie Flowers

Samuel S Bowers, a son of a cabinet maker, Samuel Bowers Sr, was born in Berlin in 1836. He received his medical degree from the University of New York in 1856. He briefly practiced in Plattsville. The next year he came to practice in Waterloo with an office in the home of John Hoffman on King St S. In 1858 he was married to Hannah Flowers. He didn't stay long in Waterloo as he left in 1860 to locate in Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin. There he became manager of Lamartine Peat Company. After two years in this business he returned to the practice of medicine in the same town. At his death in 1900 it was said of him that "Fond Du Lac has had few more popular citizens and the respect in which he is held is well merited."
