Description
Colour postcard with view of the Victoria Memorial Gateway Young Street entrance to Waterloo Park.
Notes
The Gateway was erected in 1901 featuring limestone and brick pillars, iron gates and a wrought iron arch with electric globe lights. The cost of approximately $1200 was raised by voluntary public subscriptions.
In 1957 the wrought iron arch was removed and the pillars reduced to one-third of their original height.
