This image is one in a series of postcards from the Reg Near collection. It has an image of Granton's sugar beat station. At one time, Granton was one of the largest sugar beet growing districts in Middlesex County. They shipped several tons annually. In 1956, the Canadian National Railway closed service to Granton, but kept a temporary line during the sugar beet season.
