Description:
An article written by local columnist Dorothy Eedy titled "A look at the memoirs of Lorne Eedy Sr.". In this article, Eedy writes about her father-in-law Lorne Eedy Sr. and his series of articles called "Dear Mr. Editor" which acted as memoirs of his time working as the editor for the Journal-Argus. He wrote these memoirs in 1946.

Eedy writes that his memoirs included many humorous and strange experiences. She gives details on the history of the two papers the Journal and the Argus. The Journal was bought by J.W. Eedy (Lorne Eedy Sr.'s father) in the mid-1890s. Eventually the papers merged c. 1920. Eedy wrote that the press at the Argus was once run with horse power; a short time later the Journal, which was in competition with the Argus at the time, purchased a steam engine to run their press.
