Description:
This photo gives a view of the Church Street Bridge in the early 1980s. The bridge was originally built in the summer of 1884; it was designed by local builder Leon Clench. Church Street Bridge would eventually be rebuilt in 1979; the bridge would still have been relatively new at the time the photo was taken.

In the winter and early spring of 1982-1983, Randall Speller, a colleague of Larry Pfaff from the Art Gallery of Ontario, took a series of black and white photographs of houses and buildings of architectural significance in St. Marys. Larry Pfaff and several local friends who shared this interest in architecture took some additional photographs in a subsequent summer. This photograph is one of this series.
