Description:
This is a photograph of the St. Marys swimming quarry. The photo is estimated to have been taken sometime in the 1940s before the Town of St. Marys officially purchased the property. However, the quarry was used as a popular swimming spot at this time. The location was once an industrial limestone quarry until it was filled in with water in 1930. It is now the largest outdoor swimming pool in Canada.
