- Sir Adam Beck was mayor of London from 1902-04 and also served as a representative at Queen's Park for most of the time from 1902 until his death in 1925. He was key in establishing the Ontario Hydro-Electric Power Commission and together with his wife, Lady Lilian Beck supported many charities. They founded the Queen Alexandra Sanatorium (later renamed the Beck Memorial Sanatorium)in London for the treatment of tuberculosis. The Becks were well known for breeding and showing fine horses and their estate on Richmond Street included a stable and riding grounds.
The location shown on the map shows the former location of the Becks home, "Headley" which is the current location of the Adam Beck Condominiums. - Inscriptions
