The Dancy School was deeded as a school in 1856 by John Dancy on his property in South Crosby Township. The children in the picture (c1905-1910) are listed left to right as : Ruth Halladay, Leefa Dancy, Edna Ruthven, Tillie Ruthven, Mabel Coon, Ethel Dancy, Mabel Howard (teacher),Justina Carty, Ormond Powell, Will Carty, Gerald Coon, William McDonald, Horace Lawson. Some teachers in the school were Mercy Smith, Elma Pierce and Louise Conley from Westport.
