Description:
Charles Alford (1874-1949)was the son of Davis lockmaster, Philander Alford. In 1904 while working as a cheesemaker, he married Rebecca MacDonald (1878-1949). The couple later farmed in North Dakota and Abbey Saskatchewan before returning to Ontario in 1923 where Charles worked as a carpenter and fishing guide in Chaffey's Lock. The couple tragically died of coal gas poisoning in 1949.
