Bilingual School At Deux Rivieres

More than 100 interested spectators gathered at Deux Rivieres Sunday afternoon for the blessing and official opening of North Renfrew's newest bilingual separate.

Rene Houle, representing the Association for Bilingual Education in Ontario, cut the traditional ribbon. Rev. J. P. Brown, parish priest, blessed the new building, assisted by Rev. M. Gaudreault of Pembroke.

Father Gaudreault, speaking in French, repeated the message given by Father Brown in English that education required training of the body, soul, heart and mind.

Mr. Houle introduced department of education inspector Mr. Marou who said that children who learn both French and English from an early age have a better understanding of both languages, and therefore a better understanding of the Canadian heritage.

Mrs. Boissoneault, chairman of the board of education, spoke briefly, thanking those who had attended the ceremony and the speakers.
