May Erect Municipal Garage In Head. Clara Maria Township
MACKEY (Special) — With township finances in good con¬dition, council of the township of Head, Clara and Maria, de¬cided at this week's regular meeting, to consider in their 1970 budget the erection of a garage to house municipal equipment.
There has never been such a building in the township and with the recent purchase of a new truck, council feels it is time to take a serious look at the matter.
The trailer bylaw will be amended to put the responsi¬bility of collection of the monthly house trailer rental fee of $5 on the landowner, rather than on the trailer own¬er. Trailer permits must be ob¬tained from the bylaw enforce¬ment officer before moving into the township.
Bernard Spencer of Stone¬cliffe, reappointed as welfare officer for 1970, reported at the meeting that there were two eases of welfare in the township in the month of December for a total of $361.49. There had been no welfare in the township for the previous seven months.
It was decided that regular council meetings will be held the first Wednesday of each month in the township hall at Stonecliffe at 7:30 p.m.
The reeve Mrs. Loretta Boissonneault advised that due to recent department of health rulings, anyone with DDT in their possession is requested to bring it to the township hall for disposal.
The township will apply for road subsidy for $10,000 worth of work on township roads in the year 1970.
The road superintendent was given authority by council to rent equipment when required during the course of his work.
Council was advised that the survey on the site for the new boat launching ramp at Mac- key had been completed last week.
