Area Township Mill Rate Down For 1970

MACKEY (Special) — The 1970 budget for the townships of Head, Clara and Maria, brought down last week, showed a reduced mill rate for all tax payers.

The average decrease is a half a mill.

The budget allows for extensive renovations to the town¬ship hall and community centre and full payment of the new township truck.

The reduced tax is made pos¬sible through a reduced county rate, plus a surplus at the be¬ginning of the year.

Public school residential and commercial rates will be 82.48 mills and 99.61 mills compared to 83.89 and 101.06 last year.

Separate school residential and commercial are 84.86 and 102.28 compared to last year's 84.96 for residential and 102.50 for commercial.

Also at last week's council, Mrs. Paul Senack, township clerk - treasurer was appointed lottery licensing officer for the townships.

Complaints that have come up concerning the condition of Bissett's dump will be referred to the road superintendent.
