- This photo of Wabigoon on Lake Manitou was taken from the deck of the cruise ship Galatea. As early as 1897, newspaper clippings from the Wabigoon Star reveal recreational activities such as fishing, hunting and cruises around the town of Wabigoon. It was because of Gold Rock that interest grew for the towns of Dryden and Wabigoon.
