This item is an 81 page PDF format scanned collection series of letters and ledger entries from an early Fort William General Store. The general store was first established in 1864 by Fort William pioneer John McLaurin until 1905. Later, McLaurin went on to partner with his son-in-law Thomas Dow (married to McLaurin's daughter May) and they opened McLaurin & Dow, a grocery store. McLaurin & Dow was originally located on Victoria Avenue, Fort William and later moved to Syndicate Avenue and changed its name to Imperial Grocery.
