Architectural Features
This house is a one and a half storey building constructed circa 1895 from white aluminum siding and two rear additions which result in an irregular plan. The metal roof is a side gable with a steeply pitched front gable roof with eaves projecting with no rafters exposed and raking plain projecting verges. The front door is centered in the gable façade with a flat structural opening and plain trim surround. The side entrance is a newer addition, built into the side porch which was closed in the 1960s1. The building’s windows are four pane single hung on the first storey with a two pane single hung window with arched transom in the gable. There are picture windows and casement windows in rear additions, with the newest addition added circa 19901. The front porch has a shed roof with turned column supports and cornice brackets.
The barn was first built in 19051 and features a rock faced stone foundation with vertical planking above. It is surrounded by two concrete silos and has two single storey shed additions, the older of which now serves as the barn’s entrance.
