This large headstone at Clump Cemetery
is that of the Clump family. Zacariah Clump was born in Dutchess County New York in 1787 and came to Canada in 1819. He passed away on January 10th 1863. Zacariah was married to Jane, who passed away April 7th, 1874 at the age of 80 years and 6 months. They had two sons – Cornelius and Alonzo - and four daughters – Rachel, Gertrude, Harriet Ann, and Eliza Jane.
Cornelius passed away on February 10th, 1895 at the age of 72 years and 3 months. Alonzo passed away July 2nd, 1901 at the age of 69 years and 3 months. Rachel passed away November 17th 1891 at the age of 67 years and 6 months – she married Elam Green. Gertrude passed away as a child on August 30th 1832 aged 6 years and 7 months. Harriet Ann passed away April 24th 1899 at the age of 65 years and 6 months. Eliza Jane passed away June 4th 1924 at the age of 88 years and 11 months.
There are several markers – 4 are marked with the initial ‘C’, 6 are inscribed with names of individuals buried there, and two are inscribed ‘mother’ and ‘father’.
