Black and white photograph of Grand River Street in Paris, Ontario, during a military parade circa 1942. The crowd is composed primarily of children standing on the street, many of whom are waving Union Jacks. There are storefronts in the background, including that of Maher Shoe Stores, and two cars to the left.

The photograph was taken by D. A. Smith, a local Paris photographer.
Notes:
The Paris Museum and Historical Society has business records, which include local newspapers of Maher advertisements dated to 1939. Therefore we know the business was operating at the beginning of the Second World War, although it is unknown when it first opened.
