1812-era Musket Ball Mold

- This handheld bullet ball mold was carried by Canadian or British soldiers in the County of Brant area during the campaign of the War of 1812. It was used with the famous British "Brown Bess" Land Pattern Musket, and provided soldiers with a small, portable means to create balls.
This artifact was provided for photography by Richard Shaver from his personal collection. It can be seen on display at the Canadian Military Heritage Museum in Brantford.
