This appears to be one of J. A.Strang's post card mounted photos. What is described as rapids is the lower section of the South River Falls north channel looking upstream towards the government road (Mill Street)during a freshet. As there is no sign of any river development in this photo we could presume it would be dated before 1910.

Black and white postcard of rapids and waterfalls. There's forest on either side of the river. There's also some rocks on either side of the river too. The rapids make a zig-zag pattern down a steep hill.
